Unlike the September event, in which you'll usually see a slew of fancy new hardware (rose gold Macbook, anyone?), the WWDC focuses on the software and programming that keep Apple at the top of their game - and us at the edge of our seats. (Their other annual conference, generally in September, is used to roll out the latest iPhone models and hardware developments.) And as Apple has always done in the past, they've remained pretty tight-lipped about the upcoming product rollouts today, with what seems like less leaks to the media than ever, according to The Guardian. Today is the Apple WWDC - or the computer giant's annual worldwide developers' conference - in which Apple gives everyone a peek into their latest innovations in terms of their software, apps, and the like. The big reveal, though, was that Apple TV has partnered with Amazon Prime Video, which has a wealth of video content, adding to the 50 channels and networks Apple TV has already brought on board.
The first big announcement from the Apple WWDC 2017 - besides the fact that more student developers are in attendance ever - has to do with the Apple TV, though CEO Tim Cook admitted that much more was to come later this year. Selfies.Īnd if you've ever been one to pick up your phone when you drive (which you NEVER should, and why it's illegal to do so here in New York, TBH), now Apple's gonna stop that, too, by syncing your phone with your car in a special "Do Not Disturb" mode.
They can also now be edited with fun effects and Memories. Plus, you know when you take a live photo and like, you want one of the frames that isn't at the beginning or end of the video footage? Now you can splice those frames out for the best photo every time. After all, according to Apple, iPhone users take a whopping 1 trillion photos per year. And what's more, they'll also take up half of the size of their former selves. For example, videos will now be compressed at twice the rate they are currently, meaning they'll take up HALF the storage space.
What's also remarkable about iOs11 is the new file formats and compression abilities they've introduced for both photos and videos.
